Last Saturday, YABOT Academy successfully conducted the Fire Sense – Smart Safety Workshop at both our Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam centres. Young participants explored the fundamentals of electronics and Arduino while building their own DIY Flame Detector Fire Safety System.
Through hands-on activities, students learned how flame sensors detect fire, how Arduino processes sensor inputs, and how smart safety systems help protect homes and workplaces. The workshop also strengthened their creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills through practical learning.
Last week’s Makers Lab session introduced students to the exciting world of game development through MakeCode Arcade. Using block-based coding, students created their own game, Apple Rush, while learning the fundamentals of programming in a fun and interactive way.
They designed sprites, controlled player movement, collected falling apples, detected collisions, and added countdown timers to make the game more engaging. The session enhanced logical thinking, creativity, and coding skills while giving students the joy of building and playing their own game.
